It’s Been Quiet Here Without You

I hear children playing, at the park across the way

And watch the hummingbirds singing, as they go about their day

The weather has been fair, as I write the love-songs that get me through

But it’s been quiet here without you

I go about my day wearing the saddest smile

And I’ll pause to reminisce of your beautiful face, every once in a while

I porch-sit at each sunset and watch as the sky turns twilight blue

It’s been quiet here without you

I countdown the days till I feel your heartbeat against my skin

It’s all my memories of you, that puts me in the mood I’m in

Our love for each other is so strong, etched in the words, “I do”

But this time has been so quiet here without you
